Raptors of the Bufferlands
Raptors, otherwise known as birds of prey (hawks, eagles, falcons, owls, etc.), are among the first birds to capture people’s attention. They often serve as a gateway to the larger world of birds and birding. This talk will cover the 22 raptor species, plus one honorary raptor, that can be found on the Bufferlands. We’ll discuss identification, habitat requirements, and some interesting aspects of their natural history. The species covered will be relevant to those interested in the raptors of the wider region.
