More than 400 qualified professionals work behind the scenes to operate and maintain the massive Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant near Elk Grove and the 169 miles of large interceptor pipes that convey wastewater from sewage collection systems throughout the Sacramento region.
Regional San employs a wide range of professionals, including engineers, plant operators, laboratory analysts, environmental specialists, electricians, and administrative staff. Our highly trained team is working every day to protect public health and the environment.
“Our Bufferlands team is comprised of some amazingly talented and hard-working individuals. They’re biologists that drive tractors. They’re botanists that operate chain saws. They’re ecologists, entomologists, arborists, wetland scientists, and they’re range managers. On any given day, you’ll find the different individuals on our staff engage in a whole host of activities to restore habitat, manage habitat, and basically just care for our wildlife populations.”
“Every decision we make is a balance between the people, the cost, and the environment. We provide a very important service for the community, and we’re all very proud that we’re able to provide that service.”
